Here are a few tips on helping your makeup look its best!

Start out with a clean, dry face.  Apply moisturizer all over your face.

Apply lip balm on your lips.  This is done to let the balm sink into your lips to hydrate them and keep them smooth. It helps reduce cracked and dry looking skin.

After you let your moisturizer sit for a few minutes, apply a primer to your t-zone area. When picking your primer you must be careful to pick one that is not too dry and that will help your foundation go on smoothly.

After these steps you may begin applying your makeup. You will notice smoother application and shine protection.

I recommend applying your lipstick last so that you let the lip balm stay on your lips as long as possible. Right before you are ready to apply your lip color gently dab off your lip balm and then begin applying your color of choice!

The most important thing to look for in a mascara is the wand. This is what is going to give you the fullness, curl, and separation that you are looking for.

No matter what look I am going for in a shoot I NEVER skip mascara.  It is crucial for every look.

I keep a few different ones in my kit depending on the mood.

Here is a general list of some of my favorites:

Le 2 De by Guerlain (Link)
Scandal Queen by Fairydrops (Link)
Hypnose by Lancome (Link)

I am really excited to talk about Lorac’s Starry eyed baked eye shadow trio! This is one of my favorite products that can be purchased at Sephora and comes in 7 different pallet shades. If you have ever been in a situation where you needed to pump up your eye makeup after work and don’t have time to go home then I hope that this post will be useful for you. I will explain how to accomplish day to night looks using only 2 products… 1 medium sized eye shadow brush and 1 starry eyed baked eye shadow trio pallet.

A lot of companies make eye pallets so why go with Lorac? I prefer Lorac’s trio pallet for quick drastic changes over the other brands for four reasons:

1.       This pallet is one of the smallest I have seen,

2.       Only has three shades making the steps simple

3.       Has amazingly easy to glide pigment to really give you the kick you want for candle light settings

4.       Best of all, the price is great! ($26 as of this posting, from Sephora.com CLICK HERE FOR DIRECT LINK).

The three shades come in light, medium and dark.

How to use during the day….

Step 1:  You want to take the light shade and apply generously over your eye lid using your eye shadow brush.

Step 2:  Using the same brush apply the medium shade on your crease line blending upwards.

Step 3:  To extenuate your eye shape take the darkest shade applying to only your outer crease corner.

How to transition to evening….

You follow Steps 1, 2 and 3 with a wet a brush! This gives you instant drama! Your eyes will be blinging all night!

So simple!!!

How to pick your right shade…

Although many things should be taken into consideration (your skin undertone, hair color, eye color, etc.) the most general way to pick your shade can be determined by your eye color.  For specific inquiries you are welcome to contact me and I will be happy to help you pick out the right shade!

I am so excited to have my clients look beautiful and feel confident with color on their face! Recently bright eyes are my most requested look. Some feel that when you use color on your face it makes you look clown-like, but if you achieve this look correctly you can look like a knock-out!

The great thing about this look is that it can vary immensely depending on your comfort level.

The ads for bright eye makeup are visually beautiful but are not like what most American woman can wear to work. I would like to give a few usable tips that you can incorporate into your daily lives.

Almost everyone has black or brown eyeliner. Consider using a Navy blue instead of black and if you use brown try using a dark plum. My favorites are Indigo and Permaplum which are both by M.A.C..

If you don’t usually wear eyeliner try a pop of color on your lashes. Consider going for a blue mascara and maybe even a burgundy.

I know picking eye shadow colors can be intimidating because the options are endless! My recommendation to clients who want a pop of color and don’t want to invest in many colors is going for a canary yellow. My personal favorite is the color Yellow Gold by Makeup Forever. Yellow eye shadow looks good on everyone and is easy to incorporate with your usual shadow colors.
